Leta 1899 izide prva ljubezenska pesniška zbirka Ivana Cankarja z naslovom Erotika.  Ljubljanski škof Anton Bonaventuro Jeglič je pokupil celotno naklado in jo dal požgati. V svoji zbirki Erotika razkrije svojo milejšo in bolj čustveno plat.

V svoji pesniški zbirki je zbral mladostne ljubezenske pesmi, balade in romance.
